Yacht Broker Needed

Ocean Yacht Sales is an established yacht and pleasure boat brokerage located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and a division of the TriNav Group of Companies headquartered in St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. 

We are looking for a motivated and professional commission yacht sales representative. You should be an experienced Yacht Broker or seasoned sales professional from a related industry with expertise/ understanding of the pleasure boat industry and can confidently represent the boating lifestyle, including quality sail and power boat brands. 

We are looking for someone who is an energetic self-starter, eager to grow with our business and be a key member of our team. You will be expected to act as a brand ambassador for the company, be a natural relationship builder, customer focused (always going over and above for every client request), be entrepreneurial, organised, and have a passion for boating. 

This is Independent Contract Sales Role based on 100% commission, reporting directly to the district Sales Manager. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Generating and managing client listings (including completing listing agreements). 
  • Proactively identify and prospect new potential clients. 
  • Cold calling and networking to build a client base. 
  • Required to complete listing agreements, including collecting the vessel details, creating detailed descriptions, and taking high-quality photographs. 
  • Input and management of required sales information into our vessel listing system. 
  • Respond quickly, knowledgeably, and professionally to inbound inquiries. 
  • Answering buyer leads by communicating and answering questions regarding the listings. 
  • Managing the entire sales process from beginning to end including showing of boats, haul outs, surveys, and sea trials. 
  • Handle all boat offers and purchasing process, including negotiate prices and terms of sale between buyers and sellers, along with making sure all sales documents are completed accurately and professionally. 
  • Ongoing and after sales client care including managing client expectations, price setting and adjustments and on-going client communications. 
  • Coordinate vessel showings and sea trials for interested buyers. 
  • Participation in sales meetings and sales reporting on a regular basis. 
  • Attend trade events and meet clients face to face when needed. 
  • Achieve or exceed monthly targets. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients to understand their preferences and requirements. 
  • Assist clients with financing options, insurance, and other related services. 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions. 
  • Coordinate, assist and complete boat commissioning tasks when required. 

Education and Experience Requirements 

  • College or University degree an asset 
  • Experience working in Yacht sales or related industry coupled with an expertise in boats. 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience. 
  • Proficiency and experience with computers, mobile devices, and various software applications. 
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office. 
  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Experience working with a CRM system an asset. 
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated team player. 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s licence and be able to travel. 
  • Excellent communication skills in English (French an asset). 

COMPENSATION & REMUNERATION: • 100 % commission-based compensation on all sales 

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time 

Schedule: 

Flexible work environment 

Monday to Friday 

Weekends as needed.
