Description

Windhorse is a fine example of a well maintained and consistently upgraded Landfall 35.  The Landfall 35 is a Robert Ball designed C&C yacht, built with the cruising couple in mind.  While boasting classic lines and a traditional layout, the Landfall 35 has managed to add a touch of comfort to so much of the design that is difficult to articulate but easy to feel.

The oval cockpit is large and welcoming, for example, which provides a great platform for entertaining and ample room to manoeuvre when underway. What needs to be felt though is the comfort and with the oval cockpit, there is no uncomfortable place to rest.  The decks are clear of obstacles and moving about is safe and easy.  Underway, Windhorse is a pleasure to sail.  Predictable and forgiving with a solid feel and respectable performance.

Accommodations below continue the comfort theme.  A traditional layout with U-shaped galley to starboard, pilot berth and nav station to port, full size settee, U-shaped dinette, enclosed head, and master forward.  While there are berths to sleep 6, the Windhorse was truly designed to visit a crowd and sleep two.  Again, the comfort in this design is felt in the little things.  6’-3” headroom throughout, extra long berths, and enough beam in the saloon that a couple can manoeuvre through the space with elbow room to spare.  The abundance of hatches, windows and ports not only allow light to flood the space, but fresh air can flow through the space.

The owners of Windhorse have spared no expense in her care and maintenance.  Maintenance has always been contracted to professionals and goes well beyond changing the oil.  Servicing or replacing components before they suffer fault and systematically upgrading equipment each season.  Some of the recent maintenance and upgrades listed below:
