1982 Endeavour 37 – Classic Bluewater Cutter

This 1982 Endeavour 37 is a proven offshore cruiser, combining rugged construction, comfortable accommodations, and an exceptionally rare interior layout. Designed as a capable bluewater vessel, the Endeavour 37 has long been respected for its full keel design, balanced rudder, and sea-kindly performance—ideal for extended cruising or coastal exploration.

This particular boat stands out as a tall rig bowsprit cutter paired with a highly sought-after modified interior configuration, featuring a private aft cabin with vanity—a rare upgrade found on only a limited number of these vessels. [oceanyachtsales.com]

Below deck, the layout is both spacious and practical. A bright main salon offers generous seating with convertible berthing and a fold-away dining table for flexible entertaining. The forward V-berth provides comfortable accommodations with ample storage, while the head is thoughtfully positioned for access from both the salon and forward cabin. The aft cabin adds valuable privacy, making this vessel well-suited for extended cruising or liveaboard use.

The galley is fully equipped for extended stays aboard, featuring a 3-burner propane stove with oven, double stainless sinks, hot and cold pressure water, refrigeration, and abundant storage throughout.

On deck, the large cockpit offers excellent space for entertaining or passagemaking, complemented by a versatile dodger and bimini setup. The custom stainless arch with integrated davits provides added functionality for cruising, along with mounting options for electronics and gear. Serious ground tackle, dual anchors with dedicated rodes, and a bowsprit anchoring platform add to the vessel’s offshore capability.

The sail plan includes a mainsail (2023), headsail, and roller-furling staysail, supported by a keel-stepped mast and cutter rig with running backstays, offering versatility and balance in a wide range of conditions.

Well-equipped with navigation electronics, diesel heat, hot water, and a reliable Perkins engine, this vessel represents an excellent opportunity to own a capable, comfortable cruiser with character and pedigree.

If you’re searching for a solid, go-anywhere cruising sailboat with a rare and functional layout, this Endeavour 37 deserves your attention.

Interior

Details

The Endeavour 37 is a solidly build, no-nonsense bluewater boat that was designed and built to take you anywhere and this is evident upon stepping aboard. Endeavour made the E37 with a choice of layouts and rigging configurations and "viewfinder" is a rare combination of the best of all options. She is a tall rig bowsprit cutter version abovedeck and the sought-after b-plan belowdecks (she is actually a rare C=plan, which is a B-plan but with the aft quarterberth and chart table changed into private aft cabin with vanity, of which only a handful were made)

Upon descending the companionway you will find the galley to starboard, and a private double aft cabin ( with vanity and sink) to port. Forward of this is the large, spacious salon, with port and starboard settees. The starboard settee can be pulled out to create a double berth. The large dining table is bulkhead mounted and be quickly folded up when not needed or expanded when entertaining. A large V-berth with hanging lockers is forward. Forward of the settee is the head, with doors to permit access from either the settee of the v-berth. The cockpit of the endeavour 37 is exceptionally large for a boat this size. The dodger and bimini can be separates, or joined to form a large single unit.
